Welcoming Cameron Mae to The Edge Counselling: Expanding Our Support for Couples, Families, and Youths
I’m thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter for The Edge Counselling as we expand our services to better support the diverse needs of our community. Joining us is Cameron Mae, my daughter, who brings a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives to our practice. Together, we will now provide support not only for couples but also for families and youths, helping them navigate life’s challenges with a focus on mental health, personal growth, and relationship building.
As the founder of The Edge Counselling, based in Subiaco, I have spent years working with couples to build and maintain healthier, stronger relationships. With two schools just steps away from my practice, I have become more aware of the growing need for youth and family support. That's why I'm so excited to bring Cameron on board to offer a new dimension to our services—youth coaching and family counselling.
Who is Cameron Mae?
Cameron comes with an impressive background. She holds a degree in Psychology and has three years of experience working in the NDIS sector as a psychosocial recovery coach and carer for both children and adults with disabilities. Cameron has also supported many peers and clients through personal challenges such as school pressures, mental health struggles, and the overwhelming and pervasive influence of social media on the young.
What makes Cameron truly special, beyond her professional qualifications, is her lived experience. She has been exposed to the challenges many young people face today, including bullying, anxiety, depression, and the pressures of fitting in. Her ability to empathise and create a safe, non-judgmental space for youths aged 12-18 makes her an invaluable addition to our team.
Expanding Our Reach: From Couples to Families and Youth
While I continue to offer my services as a couples counsellor, Cameron’s presence allows us to extend our support to families and youth who may be struggling with mental health issues, school pressures, and relationship dynamics within the family. Cameron will offer youth coaching, helping teenagers develop emotional resilience, confidence, and the ability to navigate the complexities of growing up.
We are passionate about ensuring that both parents and children have the tools they need to communicate effectively and build stronger connections. By expanding into family counselling, we can now support entire families as they work through life’s challenges together. Whether your family is dealing with relationship conflicts, youth mental health issues, or simply needs guidance on improving communication, we are here to help.
Flexible Support Options
At The Edge Counselling, we understand that each family’s needs are unique, which is why we offer a variety of flexible support options. Cameron is available for online sessions via Zoom, making it easy for families and youths to connect no matter where they are. She also offers in-person sessions in the northern suburbs on cozy bean bags for a relaxed and comfortable environment, while I continue to provide sessions from the softest sofa in Subiaco for couples and individuals.
By offering both online and in-person support, we make sure our clients can access the help they need, when they need it.
Why Choose The Edge Counselling?
With years of experience in relationship counselling and an expanding focus on youth and family coaching, The Edge Counselling is a trusted name in Subiaco and the surrounding areas. At the moment, her schedule is booked out two weeks in advance, as are most of our services. However, we always strive to accommodate urgent situations and are more than willing to find an earlier slot if it’s an emergency. Your well-being is our priority, and we’re committed to being there when you need us most.
